Welcome!

Thanks for joining me in my somewhat busy, crazy, confused and mildy entertaining world!

Anzac Day 2012

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old:
... Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
Lest We Forget

One of my favourite images from last year (and a place to visit on my bucket list) is

Halfway! nearly

Well it is week 5 of the first ten week term of 2012 and I am sick already! Mind you, half of the Prep staff are sick this week, with the other half sick last week!  We have just had such a busy start to the term that it has hit us like a Mack truck and we've got nowhere to go but down!

In other news, I had a window in my classroom that desperately needed something! While I loved that it let in so much natural light, there was just too much glare. I made a curtain on Saturday but I haven't been back to school to put it up. (Photos to come!) I used a piece of fabric that I was saving for a rainy day and I had to add two strips of green on either end to make up for the length. I was going to use the green to make one of these

But I will just have to put that in the unfinished not yet started drawer!

I need to go and lay down again for a while, hopefully I will feel better soon!

I am a Great Aunty again! My oldest nephew and his partner have given birth to their first!  He's so cute and so tiny.

Here are photos of all three Great-nephews and niece!

New Year new Beginnings!

I have spent the last week getting my classroom ready and doing Professional Development! But the bit I like better is the getting ready bit!  Here are some pics. It's not completely finished yet but I am loving it.  It's all based around a rainbow theme thanks to the most brilliant behaviour management reward system I have ever used.  I will post more photos and info on that later.

I have also "borrowed" an idea from Pinterest and put my Dad to work!

Please excuse the iphone photos! They were taken on a 10 minute coffee break!

Goodbye good friend

The world lost a very good person last week and we said goodbye to her at her funeral on Thursday. M. was the type of person who really did see the good in everybody, saw the humour in every part of life and also had it organised to a finite point!

I will miss you you more than you know.
